What is a great knife to buy?

I need a new knife, my old gerber fell apart on me! I would like a strong and durable knife, preferably fixed blade, but a folder will do too. I also need it made in AMERICA. I have had very bad experiences with Knives made in foreign countries. I will probably take it camping, and will use it for hunting as well. Could some one please point me in the right direction? Also, as long as it is under 160$ it isn't a problem, thanks guys!

wow i am shocked to hear that your gerber fell apart. I have had mine for 7 years now and have not had any problems. K-bar great fixed blade knife. If you are going to use it for hunting get the serrated blade. SOG, and Cold Steel are great brands too. SOG makes a knife called the SEAL PUP that is a great knife i would reccomend also. That and the K-BAR will run about the same in the 70-90 depending on where you get it.
