could i get a short hairstyle with my really frizzy hair?

my hairs really frizzy, it only looks good when its wet and therefore straight and smooth, when its dry it doubles in size...........anyways i was wondering if i could get my hair cut really short and have it look good? would i have to use heaps of gel to keep it in place? ............cuz right now i tie my hair up so even though it gets really messy and alot of the shorter hairs fly around.
ok im a girl and i hate to look prissy and girly..............im asian and im mainly thinking of cutting my hair short cuz its just more conveinient, sometimes long hair is uncomfortable if u wana lie down and dont wana take ur hair band off, becuz i have frizzy hair when i do my hair i have to wet it ALOT first so it ties up neat and its a real bother.
